Analyst / Senior Analyst

Primary Job Function: This role requires a creative and curious person who is able to quickly understand data requirements, learn these technologies and apply them to analyze, manipulate and validate data from a variety of data sources and platforms in order to deliver tangible results aligned to our client’s objectives and success. As an Analyst, you will work on a broad range of projects involving data gathering and analysis and data management as well as applying new technologies like data mining, predictive modelling and optimisation to real life business problems. In addition, Senior Analysts demonstrate business acumen, proven analytics knowledge and strategic thinking. You will also be expected to take the lead on projects for all data related matters, train and mentor data analysts and assist senior management with project planning and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Analysts and other team members to provide analytical rigor and technical expertise on client engagements and internal projects
  • Understand our clients’ business needs and develop accurate solutions
  • Map where the information lies within complex corporations and work with our clients to gain access to the data
  • Interview client contacts to validate data, collect qualitative information and gain client insight
  • Analyze, manipulate, cleanse and validate data from a variety of data sources and platforms
  • Create and deliver presentations of project findings, business requirements and data dictionaries to internal and client teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with outstanding academic results from a top tier university, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, econometrics, quantitative methods, computer science, informatics, operations research, supply chain or logistics
  • For Senior Data Analyst, a Master’s Degree or PhD is preferred with preference in Statistics, Econometrics, Quantitative Methods, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain or Logistics
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, verbal communication and writing skills
  • Fluent in English, second foreign language preferred
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills to construct models that capture and analyze real life business situations
  • Professional work ethic and integrity
  • Flexible and adaptable to an intellectually challenging but rewarding career

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including reference formulae and PivotTables
  • Familiarity with SQL and other querying tools such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata and others. Senior Data Analysts are expected to have a working knowledge of such tools
  • Strong analytical skills, including general statistics tools to structure, develop and interpret models
  • Ability to sense-check data for abnormalities and working with the client team to resolve inconsistencies
  • Understanding and knowledge of various optimization tools preferred (e.g., ILOG, Solver, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following are preferred: VBA, SQL Business Intelligence Development Studio, Visual Studio, SPSS, SAS, JMP  

Industry Requirements

  • Proven ability in analyzing data and creating analytical models and solutions to business problems

Primary Job Function: The Sourcing Associate's role is to  support a client category team through the strategic sourcing process throughout the course of an engagement and provide timely, high-quality deliverables that surpass the expectations and targets of the senior client stakeholders. Sourcing Associates gather and analyze data to identify strategy, operations and technology process improvements and develop innovative solutions that deliver tangible results. Beyond delivering great client work, you will support the growth of the firm though writing and publishing articles and podcast, supporting recruitment, training and mentoring of new colleagues, and use your entrepreneurial spirit to develop your knowledge and expertise into repeatable commercial offerings to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the overall strategy for the client including RFI/P and on-line bidding and design of the bid structure
  • Deliver strategic sourcing consulting to clients including guidance throughout the strategic sourcing and negotiation process
  • Work with client teams to strategize how to best use appropriate sourcing technologies (Collaborative Optimization, eRFX, eAuctions) within the context of their ongoing commodity strategies
  • Manage the sourcing process, validating final bids and generating and distributing RFP reports

Additionally, you will be recognized both internally and externally with the clients as a center of expertise within a particular field.
